100 years of Grace

Join us on February 17, 2019 as we celebrate 100 years of Grace. Hill Avenue Grace Lutheran Church was founded on February 20, 1919 in Pasadena, California. We look forward to reflecting on those who founded this church, and the rich history we have inherited.

The church exists because of the people who enter its doors. Each one brings unique gifts to serve God. As we look to the future, we realize our story does not end at 100 years. God will continue to work through us as we strive to be a light for God in our community.

Grace is the name if this congregation, a beautiful name, a significant name. Grace is the watchword of this Christian congregation, Grace is the message of its pulpit, and Grace in the hearts of its members is its aim. For 100 years it has been the privilege of this congregation to lift high the banner of the Grace of God.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God – not the result of works, so that no one may boast. – Ephesians 2:8-9
